Tradition, carried into the future
Our name joins two ideas: dentou — tradition, and the accumulated skill it carries — and mind, the intelligence we now build into machines. The open circle in our mark is drawn from the Japanese ensō: a form that is complete precisely because it remains open to continuation.
Founded in 2017 in Japan's Kansai region, the company began in technology-succession consulting and academic project support — helping organizations understand, preserve, and transfer expert knowledge. Our team's research spanned the motion analysis of traditional craftsmanship, surgical technique and gaze, and the ergonomics of nursing care: fields united by one question — how does expertise move from one generation to the next?
Today we apply that question at a new scale. As large language models become infrastructure, healthcare needs AI agents that institutions can govern — privately deployed, locally evaluated, and affordable enough for everyday care settings. Dentou Mind exists to build them.
