For Hospitals & Research Institutions

Medical AI agents,
within every institution's reach

Dentou Mind develops and operates clinical AI agents for medical institutions — privately deployed, grounded in evidence, and designed so that hospitals and research teams of every size can adopt, operate, and govern them.

Why Now

Healthcare needs AI that institutions can govern

General-purpose AI services are powerful, but hospitals cannot send patient records to opaque external APIs. The institutions that adopt private, well-governed AI agents early will set the standard of care for the next decade.

Regulatory gravity

Japan's personal-information protection regime and the medical-information system security guidelines maintained by the relevant ministries demand clear answers on where data is processed, by whom, and under whose control. Private deployment provides those answers.

Workforce pressure

An aging society and a constrained clinical workforce make documentation, coordination, and knowledge work increasingly expensive. Well-scoped AI agents return clinicians' time to patients — without removing professional judgment from the loop.

Compute reality

Metropolitan power constraints, hardware scarcity, and rising prices make a single-site compute strategy fragile. A distributed footprint — matched to data-sensitivity tiers — delivers capacity, resilience, and cost control at once.

What We Do

Agents first, on infrastructure we operate

From the clinical workflow down to the GPU, Dentou Mind delivers the full stack — so institutions work with a single, accountable partner.

Medical Agent Co-Creation

Joint development of specialty-focused AI agents with university and hospital partners — documentation, evidence retrieval, multilingual communication, and operations — grounded in local guidelines and evaluated against local standards.

Private Clinical LLM Platform

Deployment and operation of open-weight large language models on dedicated GPU infrastructure — on-premises, in private data centers, or in isolated cloud environments — adapted to local clinical language, with deep strength in Japanese.

Distributed Compute Fabric

A clustered, multi-region GPU footprint across Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand — engineered around power availability, operating cost, staffing depth, and disaster resilience, with data-residency tiering enforced at the scheduler level.

Our Approach

From the science of skill to machine intelligence

Dentou Mind was founded in Japan's Kansai region with a question that has guided us ever since: how is expertise transferred — from master to apprentice, from clinician to clinician, and now, from people to machines?

Before building AI systems, our team spent years in academic research on human skill — analyzing the movements of traditional craftspeople, the gaze and technique of surgeons, and the ergonomics of nursing care — and in consulting on the succession of technology within organizations. That heritage shapes how we build AI today: respect for domain expertise, measurement before claims, and systems designed to support professionals rather than replace them.

  • Grounded in peer-reviewed research on human factors and clinical skill analysis
  • Long-standing collaboration with universities in Japan and Southeast Asia
  • Technology succession and organizational consulting since our founding in 2017
Research & Academia

Built with universities, not just for them

Our academic collaborations include an active research relationship with Professor Ryo Kawasaki of Osaka University — spanning public-health research and the governance of medical AI — alongside joint work with universities in Japan and Southeast Asia on evaluation methodology and agent safety.

Members of our team have contributed to international conferences in human–computer interaction and applied human factors, and to peer-reviewed studies on clinical skill assessment and care ergonomics.

In Practice

Where our agents are at work

From documentation support in university hospitals to literature intelligence for research institutes — representative engagements, shared with identifying details withheld.

Clinical documentation support

Drafting assistance for discharge summaries and referral letters inside a university hospital environment — privately hosted, fully logged, clinician-approved.

Evidence retrieval agents

Grounded search across guidelines and literature for research teams — every answer traced to its source, every query within the institution's boundary.

Multilingual patient communication

Draft translation and plain-language explanation support for international patient services — localized, reviewable, and consistent with institutional policy.
